One of my passions in life is discovering how the body can be re-shaped through exercise. So today I want to share with you my Calvin Klein Oblique Workout. This was born out of experimentation and discovery with my clients of all shapes and sizes and ages. We decided, that for many women, while a 6 pack may be out of reach – Calvin Klein lines are achievable!
Over the years I have experimented with tons of different workout techniques and exercises. Through trial and error (and a lot of angst) I discovered that by stimulating the deep layers of the lower core (the transverse abdominal muscle (TVA) and internal obliques) we can flatten the lower part of our tummy below the belly button and define the oblique lines on both sides.
Traditional ab workouts often miss these hard to reach areas because they do not effectively activate ALL the core muscles. The sequence of exercises needs incorporate full body movements, rotation work while encouraging the lower tummy muscles to pull in towards the spine.
Here is just one of the many lower core workouts I do personally and with my clients. If you’re starting out, it may be a little tough but stick with it, it will get easier.

1. Crossed Leg Reverse Crunch: 10-15 reps per side
2. Feet to Ceiling: 12-15 reps
3. Crossed Arm Twisting Crunch: 20 (alternate sides)
4. Jeri Curl: 20 (alternate sides)
5. Standing Core Twist: 20 each side
Beginner: 1 set, Intermediate: 2 sets, Advanced: 3 sets
Frequency: 3 times a week.
