Calvin Klein Obliques: Abs Workout (Video)

One of my passions in life is discovering how the body can be re-shaped through exercise.  So today I want to share with you my Calvin Klein Oblique Workout.  This was born out of experimentation and discovery with my clients of all shapes and sizes and ages. We decided, that for many women, while a 6 pack may be out of reach – Calvin Klein lines are achievable!

Over the years I have experimented with tons of different workout techniques and exercises. Through trial and error (and a lot of angst) I discovered that by stimulating the deep layers of the lower core (the transverse abdominal muscle (TVA) and internal obliques) we can flatten the lower part of our tummy below the belly button and define the oblique lines on both sides.

Traditional ab workouts often miss these hard to reach areas because they do not effectively activate ALL the core muscles. The sequence of exercises needs incorporate full body movements, rotation work while encouraging the lower tummy muscles to pull in towards the spine.

Here is just one of the many lower core workouts I do personally and with my clients.  If you’re starting out, it may be a little tough but stick with it, it will get easier.

Put me to the test, try my proven and powerful core workout!

1. Crossed Leg Reverse Crunch: 10-15 reps per side
2. Feet to Ceiling: 12-15 reps
3. Crossed Arm Twisting Crunch: 20 (alternate sides)
4. Jeri Curl: 20 (alternate sides)
5. Standing Core Twist: 20 each side

Beginner: 1 set, Intermediate: 2 sets, Advanced: 3 sets

Frequency: 3 times a week.

Even if you’ve struggled to achieve a flat, lean tummy in the past, done hundreds of crunches, tried extreme diets and crazy ab routines – beautiful oblique lines are within reach!  It’s just a matter of doing the right moves for the female body combined with a healthy eating plan.

“I am 62 and after following your program I have abs for the first time in my life, I know it’s real because my husband complimented me on my 4 pack! I feel a new sense of life energy – knowing I look way younger, fitter, stronger and healthier than all my friends”.

“I bought Belinda’s program because she inspired me that even at 43 I can get the body I have always wanted. I’ve tried a lot over the years. She just seemed like a very genuine and nice person who really understands the female body. I just want to say that her workouts REALLY WORK!  I am seeing changes that I never thought possible – and while I still have a way to go, it gives me hope. Thank you Belinda, like you say – never say never”

“One day I looked in the mirror and suddenly realized I had transformed from a thick-waisted cellulite-ridden body to a fit, strong physique with a flat stomach and abs! I look good, I really feel better and capable of accomplishing anything!”

Please give me some feedback on how my Calvin Klein Oblique Workouts goes…you may be surprised at what can be achieved when you put your time and energy into doing the right results orientated, female specific exercises!

Collin October 28, 2014 at 12:04 pm

hi Belinda . its a great workout. will it help to get rid of excess abdominal skin?
please advice. thank you Coach.

Belinda October 28, 2014 at 1:48 pm

Hi Collin, it will firm the underlying muscle layers and as this happens the skin will elasticize back slowly, it takes time. Just how much depends on the individual and how elastic and resilient their skin is. Obviously eating a healthy diet with a good balance of protein, fresh vegetables, complex carbs and healthy fats is important (omega 3 and 6 are important for healthy skin). Exfoliating that area a few times a week will help the blood and lymph circulation to keep the skin healthy and help generate new healthy skin cells. Keep going and be patient, the results will come! Hey Belinda,
Your Calvin Klein oblique work out is great, my abs and obliques are burning, and I think will be burning into tomorrow! Thanks mate, LOL.

Regards, Steve

Belinda September 7, 2013 at 6:10 pm

Hey Steve, great to hear from you. Gotta love that burn 😉

It’s not easy to target those muscles until they burn so well done, you’ll see results in just a few weeks for sure (let me know) – and my pleasure on the workout!

Alix October 17, 2012 at 12:03 pm

Hi Belinda,
I just wanted to say thank you for all your teachings to help so many women.
I am very skinny with small bones, I don’t want to get smaller. I exercise to obtain some muscle so I dont look just skinny. At my age after menopause it is very difficult to built up. I am 57 years old but I try to exercise everyday if is possible.
I do have some cellulite but must becouse I lost some muscle weight after menopause and gravity is fighting realy fast. I don’t exercise as intense as before when I was younger.
So my question is if this program you offer is a good one for me or you may sugest something else?
I live in Jacksonville Florida but I am original from Panama.
Thank you and God bless you, Alix

Belinda October 17, 2012 at 4:04 pm

Hi Alix, my workout program will definitely help you build muscle to lift and shape your body. As the years go by muscle is our best friend to fight the effects of aging (and cellulite). Together with a solid eating plan provided a balance of lean protein, healthy fats and complex carbs – you will see and feel the results within 3 months. Remember, it takes a while to start building new muscle but once you have it the results are lasting.

Check out the testimonials here:

Please let me know how everything is going!

Ken Walters April 17, 2012 at 1:45 pm

Hi Belinda!

Thank you for the email. Fortunately, I do not suffer from back pain (and usually sleep well). May have something to do with good posture and working on stronger stomach muscles.

I am working on that 6-pack for summer. The lower ab exercise from your “Calvin Klein Oblique Core Workouts are Great”. I’ve just started to incorporate 3 of the 5 exercises into my regular stomach workout. And they do work!

Thank you so much.

Belinda April 17, 2012 at 7:46 pm

Awesome Ken :) I would love to see some beach pics of that 6-pack….and the results of incorporating these oblique specific ab exercises! Bel

Belinda April 7, 2012 at 10:27 am

Your absolutely right! It’s not easy to hit those hard to reach muscles, deep inside the core, let alone feel sore – well done! Keep going, give yourself 4-6 weeks and then let us know the results.

If you can, take some “before” pics 😉

Belinda xoxo
