My Two Week Transformation for Burned Out Bodies!

If you have ever been stuck in a rut with your fitness routine, felt burned out, been tempted to give up……or frustrated with not seeing progress? Then keep reading!

After a crazy start to my year – I recently hit the wall and decided some radical proactive action was needed.  Let me tell you what I did!

My 2 Week Transformation Story 

Today I will share my big picture action plan for dealing with that “burned out” feeling – and how it worked like magic to recover my energy –  spirit, soul and body.  Then over the next few posts I will be digging into all the deeper details – so you can discover the exact steps and solid science behind what I did (so you can do it too).

Firstly, I took a step back.  A step back from my body, a step back from my training and nutrition.  So often we get bogged down in micro-managing our fitness goals that we lose sight of the big picture and can’t be objective.

Why 2 Weeks?

When we are feeling under the gun, setting long term goals can seem overwhelming.  So, choose a shorter time frame that is more manageable.  Don’t think of it is a “make or break”, it’s just a short “mini-transformation-vacation” :)

1. Re-Frame Your Success Factors

First, I want you to think about re-framing your success factors.  Stop obsessing about the details and what you are trying to “achieve”.  Allow yourself some fresh air – give yourself to permission to try something new, to change your routine, to get out of your comfort zone.

 2. Change Your Environment

The environment you live, work and workout in has a huge impact on your state of mind, emotions and health.  By simply making a simple but small but powerful changes – by working out somewhere different or getting outside in the fresh air by going for a walk, hike or swim – the new stimulation will cause a chain reaction on the inside of you influencing your hormones, circulation, digestion and emotions.  You will feel more creative, problem solving will be easier and you will have a new sense of “I can do it”.

3. Reduce Stress Factors

You don’t need me to tell you that stress is one of the biggest enemies of aging, sickness and emotional problems.  It’s an insidious evil that creeps into our lives, quietly undermining our deep sense of peace and happiness.  We can’t just go along thinking stress wont take it’s toll – there are too many pressures in the world around us.  We need to proactively get balance in our lives.  We need to schedule “down time” – schedule “pampering time” and make time in our day, every day, for some “me time”.  Simply getting to bed earlier, or taking a long, slow, warm shower (not rushing through to hurry onto the next “task”) and then loving our bodies a little with some moisturizer can dramatically lower our stress levels and help re-charge.

What I Did Differently!

Based on the above 3 factors I did a complete shuffle of my normal routine:

1. Got a new bike and rode every day!

2. Exercised outside and at the beach.

3. Experimented with a new training program based on doing shorter, intense, daily workouts (Asymmetrical Variance Training).

4. Started a new stretching program (incredible)!

5. Focused on improving my digestion (new supplements, higher fiber, gluten and dairy free).

6. Made time for deep relaxation (body exfoliation, massage and quality sleep).

With the magical combination of all these simple but powerful changes, at the end of 2 weeks I not only felt like a new woman but looked like one – a sexier body with fuller, rounder muscles and the same body fat %, smoother, softer skin, a more rested complexion and a stronger looking physique.

And it’s given me the kick-start I need to get through the coming months as I start to prepare for the next phase of my life (I have decided it’s time to leave Panama and will be moving onward and upward)!

Moral of my story?  Sometimes transformation doesn’t mean more discipline and sacrifice – it means CHANGE!

Hi Belinda, I worked out at the gym for 17 years, never saw great changes other than being thin. I wouldn’t say I was flabby. I quit last Sept 11, went on burn out, went up to 182lbs. June 12 started training, running/walking dropped about 20 lbs, looking to drop another 20-25. I am 5 61/2 and my Ideal weight is
135lbs. I want a toned muscular body and get rid of cellulite, legs, but, belly. Can you help me with this. I am not beginner to weight lifting and training. Thanks

It amazes me how many girls come to me who are just like you – some personal trainers, some who have spent their lives in the gym, or even from bodybuilding or competing backgrounds – who just couldn’t get the results they wanted with traditional weight training, or couldn’t find an eating and workout program that was sustainable long term. No doubt the Get Lean nutrition program would be ideal for where you are at but equally the workouts – I offer both resistance and bodyweight at intermediate and advanced levels. I suspect a special combo of my resistance circuits plus my laser targeted workouts of the month which include some advanced bodyweight work – will help you achieve your goals within 3-6 months (without feeling burned out but energized and able to go on to keep seeing results).

I have gotten so much information from Joey Atlas, hes great. I started June I injured my lateral hamstring, so that took me out for about 3 weeks. I am looking for videos not e-books as I can’t do the form correctly by pictures, do you have videos. I just ordered Naked body, haven’t even looked at yet. Do I need this if I do your program. I am so inspired by what you have accomplished and you look fantastic. I have only dreamed about looking as good as you. I am ready and willing to move forward. You know 6 months is nothing compared to 17 years. I don’t have a doubt in my mind that I can’t do this with you by my side coaching and inspiring me. I think you are totaly awesome. Thank You

Hi Maryann, my pleasure – I love helping people achieve their goals. Joey Atlas programs are excellent and for sure you will see results. Yes my program targets cellulite also – through building muscle and the detailed nutrition plan. My videos are all viewable online and downloadable – but not on DVD. Also, they are coaching videos where I walk you through the right form and technique for the exercises. My suggestion is start with the Naked Body Program and when you feel you are ready to step it up a notch and take the next level of challenge – start with Get Lean. It offers resistance (weight) and bodyweight training at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels plus a detailed 90 day nutrition plan and the members site and forum where I provide my personal support, guidance and coaching.

I’m doing this too! After coming off of two shows and having to follow a plan, I’m just working out on a whim this week and next. If I feel like doing my typical circuits, I do them. if I feel like running outside, I do it. If I feel like going to yoga, I do. It’s great to just get that mental break!

Its really great, i am at that moment in my life and planning to move too, to the other country, i did it before 12 years ago and it boosted amazingly development of my personality and quality of work i do.
i am also trying all your work outs 4 times a week, some of them i cant complete yet in desired quantity but your posts inspire me to take small steps. When im bit better financially ( the moving ) im sure i will get your get lean program,greetings and thank you

Hi Ewa, wow it sounds like you have a fantastic story, I would love to hear more! Where did you move to 12 years ago and where are you planning to move now? Where are you from originally?

Wonderful to hear you are doing my workouts :) and that they are giving you something to work towards. When I started out I couldn’t do 2 minutes on the Elliptical machine without dying – true! I would stare at the girls that went forever like machines and marvel. I felt like I could never do that in a million years. But I kept going back and doing my 2 minutes. And going back. And going back, and 2 became 3 and 3 then 4…..

I can’t wait to see you on Get Lean! I will be here when you are ready plus a ton of other motivated and committed girls waiting to welcome you.

great to hear that Belinda, because its how it looks down here, 2 min.:) but i must say that im not exhousted after those exercises like in my cardio times, its a pain but different.
Thank you for asking, i moved 12 years ago from east Poland to Amsterdam following my need for development in my passion-art , now i will move to London as its very dynamic city to try new things in my career.
Yes, i cant wait too, thank you!

Thanks for the mails, I read through most of them and found them very interesting.

My problem is, those workout tools i saw you using cannot be found in my surrounding
And if they were here, I can’t afford them. But I really want to change my look.
I am suffering from cellulite and belly fat.
What can i do about it???

Please help me.

Hi May!

I understand. You are better suited to my Get Lean Workouts – which include bodyweight training – you don’t need any equipment and you can do it at home, even in your bedroom. They will help with the cellulite and your belly fat. There is also a nutrition plan – because improving your body is also about the way you eat.
