Back then I’d been happily married for 16 years.
We lived in our dream home and were trying for the baby I’d wanted for a long time.
I had a thriving career and felt on top of the world.
One day my husband confessed that for half our marriage he’d been consorting with hookers (while preaching from the pulpit on Sundays).
As it turned out, my “dream life” was an illusion.
I found myself suddenly divorced, jobless and childless.
I felt very alone and old; terrified of what lay ahead.
To make matters worse I was overweight and riddled with cellulite. Unfit was an understatement. I’d never exercised in my life.

The 3 Big Lies
- You’re too old

Here’s what I found….
Despite my chronic life long asthma, living on sugar and never having owned a bikini or anything remotely “sexy”…
Once I decided to change, none of this mattered. I became unstoppable.
~ How many times do you think I felt like giving up?
~ How many rejections do you think I faced?
~ How many insulting snickers did I overhear?
Yes the odds were against me but I didn’t give up.
And to my surprise, not only did I survive …I thrived.
I proved the naysayers wrong and you can too…let me show you how.

It begins with the little things….
~ Your trousers feel a little tighter.
~ You wake up feeling tired despite 8 hours sleep.
~ You notice new wrinkles.
~ That nice bottle of red bites back next day…and maybe the day after that.
~ Your butt doesn’t seem as perky and you’re noticing cellulite in new places.
But we’re so busy that we don’t pay attention to what’s really going on.
Until one day looking in the mirror and think “what happened to my body”??!!
Your hormonal clock is ticking. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are declining. This affects your metabolism, energy, muscle mass, bone density, body shape and fat distribution.
But no one is talking about this stuff. Even the doctors don’t seem to have the answers.
You try dieting but the weight doesn’t budge. You start running again but your cellulite seems to get worse and your knees ache. You up your workout routine but feel exhausted rather than energized.

You begin to feel anxious and frustrated; maybe even guilty for being so preoccupied with your body.

No one can make this happen for you.
- What worked in the past won’t work now. You need to re-think.
- Let go of the dysfunctional habits that are sabotaging your body and health (you know what they are). If you need professional help, get it.
- Check out ALL your health issues.
- Get off the weight loss roller coaster. Let go of the crash diets. You need a balanced and enjoyable lifestyle that gets you the body you want while being easy to maintain long-term.

A little different than 10 or 20 years ago?
Yep, things have changed.
This is a dilemma we all face….
It’s not enough to be a wife, mother and working woman….
We’re expected to look amazing, read Chicken Soup for the Soul, go to hot yoga classes in between whipping up the odd sugar-free raw food dessert for the family. All fueled on by social media updates and photos that seem like a storyboard for the perfect life…
Here’s the truth.
Most of us fall way short of these unrealistic benchmarks.
Nevertheless, we still feel judged. People expect different things from us than they did of our mothers.
We desire change but feel overwhelmed. Our past fears and failures loom high. We can’t help imaging the judgments from well-meaning friends and family….
“I don’t think that will work.”
“Are you sure you’re up for that.”
This challenges even the most positive person.
But it’s where the rubber meets the road.
How badly do you want this?
You need to be single-minded. Let go of social pressures and expectations.
Develop an unshakable confidence that you deserve this and can do it your way, no matter what.
This is your personal journey.
Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do. This is YOUR choice.
You’re never too old, too overweight, too busy, too unhealthy or too unfit to make a change. It’s never too late no matter what your age, body type or lifestyle.
Don’t let the judgments of others discourage you from your path.
I get messages every day from beautiful women just like you.
Desperate for a better body and sometimes they even know how to get it – but they just can’t get started.
So I try to understand what’s going on…
Often they are stuck on things like macro-nutrient percentages, cardio versus HIIT, what exercise to get rid of knee fat or butt cellulite and so on….trying to get everything perfect. So perfect, that they never really get started.
What’s really happening is that they are scared to fully commit….
Scared they’ll be judged by family and friends.
Scared it’s not gonna work.
Scared they’ll fail.
Do you think I wasn’t scared at 40, trying to get in shape for the first time in my life?
I fell flat on my face time and again. I had some spectacular failures.
Do you think I didn’t hear the snickers and cruel comments; “she’s too old”, “what is she thinking” or “how embarrassing”? Heck, I still do.
But I kept my eye on the goal. Doing my thing.
It’s time to take a step back and look at the big picture. Think about what’s most important to YOU. Then get laser focused.
This is about setting goals for your body, based on your lifestyle and priorities. Own it. Then do it.
There is no perfect formula, perfect time or perfect circumstances.
Just start, don’t look back and never give up.
Once you’ve taken the first step with this mindset, you’re destined for success.
Don’t make the mistake of getting stuck on past failures or mistakes.
Every woman I know who has achieved lasting transformation experienced discouragements and setbacks.
I know I did!
And each time I heard that little voice saying…see – you’re too old, your body is too far-gone, you just don’t have the genetics.
But I picked myself back up and started again.
