Sexy is not a 4 letter word

If you’re like me, there always seemed to be a reason I wasn’t allowed to feel sexy.

I was too young, then suddenly too old!

I was too church-going, or too professional.

Then I was too married!

Listen, sexy is not a four letter word.

Sexy is about how you are feeling on the inside.

For example, have you ever noticed how a fully clothed woman with almost no skin showing is often the sexiest person in a room?

Think about some of the best actresses of all time:  Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Marilyn Monroe.

These women exude a classy sexiness that comes from within, not just from their looks.

Sexy is when your clothes swish, your eyes sparkle, your skin glows, your temperature rises, your voice softens – and all of a sudden a stranger smiles at you.

You are sexy!

The biggest enemy to sexiness is not looks or weight.

It’s failure to give yourself permission to feel sexy.

Once you give yourself permission, then start taking some practical steps to feel more sexy. For some it might be buying new lingerie (or wearing no lingerie). For others, it might be devoting some pampering time to your body, taking care of those little areas that have been neglected because you thought no one was looking.

Or it might simply be a matter of buying that stylish new pair of jeans you’ve wanted and which you know will flatter your body.  Letting your sense of humor show and sharing a laugh with your partner or spouse is another way to be sexy.

Above all, anything you do for yourself, without worrying about what others think, is likely to make you feel more sexy.

Listen, don’t be discouraged if you feel like you have lost touch with your sexiness. It happens to everyone at some point in your life. Responsibilities, relationships, children, work and countless other things can suffocate our sense of sexiness.

Remember back to the times you felt attractive and full of those wonderful come and get me vibes. You will be amazed at how just remembering those times brings a smile to your face and a little rush of good feelings.

Remember: Sexy is about YOU.  It’s not about what the world, advertising, the opposite sex or what anyone else says!

It’s about being true to yourself, having the confidence to step outside of your comfort zone, enjoying your body, enjoying the people around you – letting go a little and feeling OK about letting the real you out!

You may be surprised at the results 😉

Thank you Karen, lovely to hear from you! I discovered a while back, how we feel and think about ourselves, has a huge impact on how others will feel and think about us! So feeling a little sexy projects a sexy aura that attracts others to us :)

What a great article! Sexy is truly a state of mind! Fitting into that tight pair of jeans or shorts and feeling comfortable when you do is also sexy!
